Why Liver Detox Is Important
The liver is one of the vital organs in the body – it eliminates toxins and takes part in numerous enzyme processes important for proper body function.
However, hectic lifestyle most people have today overworks the liver thus affecting its function. This is one of the reasons why giving your liver a detox once in a while is highly recommended by health experts. The detox process will help your liver eliminate toxins and regenerate more easily.
On the other hand, an overworked liver can trigger a number of serious health issues such as:
- fatty liver
- Wilson’s disease
Liver disease refers to any loss of liver function that either happens gradually or rapidly. Liver failure normally occurs when 75% of the liver tissue is damaged. There are several risk factors that can cause liver disease. The most common include:
• viral infections
• non-alcoholic fatty liver
• toxic effects of medications including herbal remedies
• genetic or inborn liver anomalies

How to Detox Your Liver
Eating a healthy, well-balanced diet that excludes alcohol, fattening food and sodas is a priority. But, here we recommend a natural recipe that will make your liver work like clockwork in less than a week. This liver-detoxifying drink uses a few ingredients, all of which have powerful antioxidant properties.
- a cup of water
- a middle-sized beetroot
- one carrot
- one apple
Using a food processor, mix all ingredients until they blend well. Optionally, you can leave out the water and eat the mixture as puree. The best time to have the juice is in the morning after drinking a mixture of one tablespoon olive oil and juice from half a lemon on an empty stomach.
For optimal results, drink milk thistle tea during the day. The whole treatment takes one week, 3-4 times a year.
