Large or small, pores are hair follicle openings that act as a gateway for body toxins released through perspiration. Large pores are a common cosmetic issue for both men and women because these are more visible.
There are several risk factors for large pores and the most common include oily skin, age and genetics. Because of their size, they can easily get clogged with debris and oils, like sebum, which makes them more prone to breakouts.
Blackheads don’t normally cause large pores, but they are an unwanted result of them. To be more specific, blackheads appear as a result of dirt and sebum that accumulate into large pores.
Also, the sebaceous gland function, cell regeneration and collagen and elastin production decline as the skin ages making pores more visible than before.
How to Prevent Large Pores
You can’t avoid genetics, that’s for sure. But, what you can do is minimize the appearance of enlarged pores.
The first step in every face care treatment is proper hygiene. The most important thing is never to go to bed with your make up on. The next thing to consider is using homemade masks that can be really effective in tightening your skin, thus minimizing the appearance of large pores.
HOMEMADE FACE MASK AGAINST LARGE PORES
The most efficient masks for treatment of large pores are the ones based on egg whites. Egg whites are abundant in proteins and nutrients that not only tighten, but also nourish your skin. Beat an egg white and add a few drops of lemon juice. Apply the mask on your face and leave for 15 minutes or until it dries. You’ll feel your skin tightening a bit. Rinse it off with lukewarm water.
Repeat the treatment at least once a week for optimal results.
