We’re constantly learning new uses for things we’ve used for years and the list just gets longer and longer. Today we’re going to share with you the amazing alternative uses for female sanitary pads, and these uses will rock your world, for sure. You’ve never thought you can use these pads for anything else than maintaining your personal hygiene, but it turns out that their power of absorption makes them ideal for a number of other things as well.
- They can be used for protection and covering of wounds
When you don’t have the first aid kit at hand but you get injured or start bleeding from a wound the sanitary pads can come to your rescue. Just press it against the wound and secure it in place with a band aid or duct tape. It will stop the bleeding and protect the wound from infections until you get proper medical care.
- They can be used as water filter
You probably didn’t know that you can use these mini sanitary pads to filter your water, but it’s true. Next time you’re on a hiking trip, or get stranded somewhere without access to pure, drinking water make sure you have your sanitary pads with you. Just fill a bottle with undrinkable water, place a sanitary pad through the insole and fixate it well. You’ll get pure, filtered water in no time.
Just in case, you should boil the water before you drink it, because it’s not 100% bulletproof protection.
- Sanitary pads can be used for growing sprouts
How amazing is the fact that you can use these little pads to grow certain types of beans, like alfalfa sprouts. Since they retain moisture they’re excellent for this. Dampen a sanitary pad and place it in a glass jar, vertically. Place the seeds on top of the pad and put the jar next to a window. In just a few days you’ll see the sprouts growing.
- They can be used as a cleaning cloth
Forget about paper towels, sanitary pads are the next generation cleaning cloths. They are virtually indestructible and have a strong absorption power. If you add some baking soda you’ll never use anything else again.
Dampen a sanitary pad and sprinkle some baking soda on it. Wipe your microwave and then turn it on for a minute. The moisture will soften the stains and it’ll make them easier to remove.
You can also use it in your fridge, to absorb the melted ice or unpleasant fridge odors.
- Eliminate sweaty feet with sanitary pads
Since they have great absorption power they are great for sweaty feet or armpits. Just place one pad in each shoe and you’ll never fear smelly feet anymore.
You can also tape them on the inside on your shirt, under the armpits, to prevent sweat circles from appearing.
This trick is used by many celebrities such as the Formula 1 driver, Nico Rosberg who wears a pad under his helmet to absorb sweat so it doesn’t run into his eyes.
- Sanitary pads can be used as breast pads
If you’re breastfeeding sanitary pads can be a lifesaver. If you run out of nursing pads and your milk is leaking a bit you can use sanitary pads and you won’t even feel the difference.
