The biggest problem when consuming your favorite fruits and vegetables is whether they`re completely free of pesticides, chemicals and other dirt found on their skin and peel. Washing them with tap water is not enough since there are always residues from the chemicals they are treated with. This especially appeals to fruits like grapes, strawberries, blueberries and similar.
Here is a simple and effective solution for this problem.
Take a suitable container and fill it with water. Add apple cider vinegar in ratio of 1:10 ( 5l water, half a liter of vinegar). Mix well and put your fruits and vegetables in the solution. Let them stay for 10-15 minutes at room temperature.
Then, wash them with water. You will notice that the water-vinegar solution has become dirty during the procedure. All the chemicals, pesticides, bacteria and other dirt will stay in the water and your fruits and vegetables will be perfectly clean. Also, this procedure can prolong the shelf-life of many fruits that spoil quickly, such as strawberries, berries and bananas.
You can use the same solution a few times in a day and then throw it.
