Age spots or liver spots usually occur on the shoulders, face, hands and other skin parts especially those exposed to the sun. Age spots mostly appear in adults over 40, but sometimes younger people are affected too-according to Mayo Clinic. Although they are known as age spots, they do not appear only due to aging but also as a result of long-term exposure to sun and UV rays. They do not need to be treated as they are not dangerous. Bleaching with natural remedies and over-the –counter products may help against their appearance.
