Ingredients

– 700 grams of strawberries

– 150 grams of light brown sugar

– 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice

– Vanilla powder (optional)

Procedure:

Wash the strawberries, remove the stems and cut them into medium sized pieces.

Put the strawberries in a saucepan and add the sugar.

Cover with a lid and allow it to boil.

Stir it couple of times and wait until it creates white foam, which you need to remove using spoons.

Cook for no longer than ten minutes, including the time when the berries are boiled.

Add the lemon juice in the last two minutes of cooking and mix.

Add a little vanilla powder if you want.

Insert the resulting jam into jars, plastic pots or ceramic bowls and store it in the refrigerator.

Tightly packed the jam can be kept in the refrigerator for no longer than two weeks. If you insert it in a plastic bowl and freeze it, you can keep it up to a year.

After thawing, the jam can be kept in the refrigerator for no longer than one week.
