    I live in Trinidad West Indies. To my understanding Turmeric is saffron powder and not curry powder. Turmeric is one of the ingredient that make up the spices of curry.

      Tumeric is powdered from a root, is is an ingredient of curries or garam masalas…a powerful anti inflamatory and great for you. Saffron is the stamen from a special kind of crocus.

      This is not a good example to loose weigh, but adding small amounts of tumeric in to your diet can help combat inflamation and assist with various ailments.
